    You have probably already changed detergent twice

    Maybe three times. You bought the sensitive one, then the eco one, then the one someone in a Facebook group swore by. You have read the labels. You have washed everything twice before it went near your child.

    And you are still not certain whether the laundry is helping or quietly making things worse.

    That uncertainty is reasonable. The advice online is contradictory, most of it is written for American washing machines and American products, and almost none of it tells you what temperature to actually use or how often to actually wash.

    This checklist is the version I wish had existed. Australian brands, real temperatures, and the specific things that matter more than which bottle you buy.

    There is no single best one, only the best tolerated one. Look for fragrance-free, enzyme-free, and no optical brighteners. The checklist lists the Australian brands most commonly recommended by dermatologists and eczema organisations.

    Generally 30 to 40 degrees for eczema clothing, and 60 degrees for bedding where dust mite control matters. Hot water permanently damages bamboo fibres. The checklist has the full temperature guide.
