It is four in the afternoon. You have had a coffee, a piece of toast, and three bites of something your toddler handed back to you. You are not hungry, exactly. You are hollow.

The problem is almost never that you do not know what to eat. It is that nothing gets made at four in the afternoon. Whatever you eat at that hour is whatever already exists in the fridge. So the useful question is not what you should be eating. It is what you can make once, on a good day, that will still be there on a bad one.

These bliss balls take ten minutes and one bowl. No oven, no food processor, no standing over anything while a baby grizzles at your feet. They start with the Nourish Mama Lactation Bliss Balls Premix, with Nourish Mama Golden Latte powder stirred through for warmth and spice. Twenty balls, into the fridge, ready the next time your hands are free.

This recipe sits inside the Breastfeeding Nutrition & Milk Supply guide, which covers the wider picture of what your body needs while you are feeding. I am Kelly, a

Certified Postpartum Nutrition Professional, and I formulated the premix after my own breastfeeding journey went sideways. The short version of what I learned: your body is not failing you. It is depleted. Those are two different problems, and only one of them has a straightforward answer.

    What Goes In, and Why

The premix does the thinking for you. Every ingredient is in there for a reason, not for the label.

Organic oats. A reputed galactagogue with a long tradition of use by breastfeeding mothers, and a genuinely useful source of fibre, iron and B vitamins regardless of any supply effect.

Organic linseed meal. Contains phytoestrogens traditionally associated with supporting milk production, plus plant-source omega-3.

Organic millet flour. Naturally gluten free, rich in fibre, plant protein and B vitamins, and used in postpartum cooking across many cultures for centuries.

Organic sunflower meal. Plant fats and protein, which is what stops a snack from spiking your blood sugar and dropping you an hour later.

Organic raw cacao. Antioxidant-rich, and it makes them taste like a treat rather than a chore. That matters more than people admit. A snack you do not want to eat is not a snack.

If you want the full reasoning behind each ingredient, the formulation story is here. For the wider evidence on which foods actually influence supply and which are tradition rather than data, the article on whether galactagogues work is an honest read.

    What the Golden Latte Adds

Turmeric, ginger and cinnamon. Warming spices with a long history of traditional use in postpartum care, and the reason these do not taste like every other chocolate bliss ball.

Practically speaking, it also changes the flavour enough that this feels like a different snack from the chocolate version, which is useful if you are eating the same thing for the fourth day running. The turmeric turns the mixture a deeper, warmer colour. It looks like something you made on purpose.

Healthy Bliss Balls Recipe with Golden Latte (No-Bake, 10 Minutes)

    Ingredients

    • 1 ripe avocado

    • 2 tbsp coconut oil (plus extra, 1 tsp at a time, if the mixture is too dry)

    • 4 tbsp maple syrup

    • 275g pack Nourish Mama Lactation Bliss Balls Premix (1 full pack)

    • 2 tbsp Nourish Mama Golden Latte powder

    Directions

    1. Mash one ripe avocado in a large bowl until smooth. Do this first. If you try to fold whole chunks of avocado through the dry mix, you will be there a while.

    2. Tip in the full 275g pack of Bliss Balls Premix and 2 tablespoons of Golden Latte powder.

    3. Stir until fully combined. The Golden Latte powder is dry, so this mixture will be a little stiffer than the standard batch. Add coconut oil a teaspoon at a time until it comes together and holds when pressed.

    4. Roll into 20 balls, using a dessertspoon as your size guide.

    5. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before eating. They firm up and taste better cold.
