You've had a full glass of water twenty minutes ago. You're thirsty again already. It doesn't seem to matter how much you drink, or how often, your body just keeps asking for more.

    That's not in your head!
Postpartum and breastfeeding bodies lose fluid faster than plain water alone can keep up with, especially in those early weeks when you're healing and making milk at the same time. Water is doing half a job. It needs something to hold onto.

These electrolyte gummies solve the part water can't.
They're made with Nourish Mama Recovery Hydration Powder, our postpartum hydration blend with 5.5g marine collagen and 800mg natural vitamin C per serve, set into a chewable form you can keep in the fridge and reach for without mixing a drink every time. This recipe sits inside our Motherhood Hydration guide, which covers what your body actually needs to rehydrate after birth.

    Why It Works

Marine collagen is what your body uses to repair connective tissue, which matters when you're healing from birth. It's gentle and easily absorbed, but it's also heat-sensitive. Above roughly 70 to 80°C it starts to break down, which is why this recipe never goes near a boil. The gelatin is bloomed in cold water first, then dissolved into liquid that's warm to the touch, not hot. Everything stays intact.

The 800mg of vitamin C comes from acerola cherry and supports the absorption of iron from your diet, useful during a stage when iron needs are often higher. The plant-based electrolytes, bamboo silica, beetroot, and sea buckthorn, are what give the gummies their natural pink colour. No food dye needed.

Electrolyte Gummies Recipe for Postpartum Recovery

    Ingredients

    • ¾ cup (185ml) cold water, divided

    • 4 tbsp (about 40g) unflavoured gelatin powder

    • 2 serves Nourish Mama Recovery Hydration Powder (as per pack directions)

    • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup, to taste (optional)

    Directions

    1. Pour half the cold water into a small bowl and sprinkle the gelatin over the top.
Leave for 5 minutes to bloom.

    2. Gently warm the remaining water in a small saucepan over low heat until warm to the touch, not boiling.

    3. Remove from heat. Whisk in the bloomed gelatin until fully dissolved.

    4. Whisk in the Hydration Powder and honey or maple syrup, if using, until smooth. The mixture should still be warm, not hot.

    5. Pour into silicone moulds.

    6. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, until firm.

    7. Pop out of the moulds and store in an airtight container in the fridge.
